Educationist and wildlife observer Sumangala Rajapaksa presents
a copy of Wildlife magazine to Postal Services Minister Jeevan
Kumaratunga.

The first copy of the Wildlife magazine, an official publication of
the Wildlife Department, was handed over by educationist and wildlife
observer Sumangala Rajapaksa to Postal Services Minister Jeevan
Kumaratunga at a ceremony at the Ministry.
The magazine consists of articles on the present trends of wildlife,
scientific studies conducted on animals, birds and reptiles and the
lifestyle of Sri Lanka's indigenous people.
Wildlife Department photographer Rohitha Gunawardane has captured the
images of birds, animals and reptiles in the national wildlife parks for
the magazine.
Experienced graphic artistes have worked on the magazine which is
expected to attract a large number of readers.
There are articles on the displacement of elephants from the Mahaveli
zone and the rare sighting at the Wasgamuwa National Park of a bear.
