Wayamba Farmers' Week

The National Farmers' Week and Agriculturel Exhibition -2013 will be held at Wariyapola Agricultural Training Centre, Kurunegala from July 6-10.

Wayamba Agricultural Minister D.B. Herath told the Sunday Observer that this kind of public events will encourage the youth to engage in agricultural activities and food production.

Liver transplant

Baby Prabad Lakshan of 122, Ranketi Uyana, Hindagolla, Barandana, Kurunegala has been diagnosed by Senior Paediatric Hepatalogist, Dr. Naresh P. Shanmugam of Global Health City, India as being afflicted with Cholestatic liver disease, which needs liver transplantation. The approximate cost of the surgery is estimated to be around US $ 45,000.
