Dengue control in Akkaraipattu

Steps have been taken to control the spread of Dengue in Akkaraipattu. The residents of Akkaraipattu MOH area have been cautioned to be alert on dengue mosquitoe breeding grounds in their premises.

The MOH office, Municipal Council and Pradeshiya Sabha have launched a Dengue prevention program.

The statistics indicate a decrease in the number of dengue cases compared to the last year. Environmental pollution has been identified as a major cause for the spread of the epidemic.

The people were made aware of dengue over the loudspeaker and leaflets distributed among them as a measure to control the spread of Dengue.

Residents responsible for mosquito breeding locations have been warned to keep their premises clean. Un-cleared garbage lying for a long time is another cause for the spread of dengue, Akkaraipattu MOH Dr. I.L. Siddique said.
