2011 Korean Film festival

The 2011 Korean Film Festival organised by the Embassy of Republic of Korea in Sri Lanka and the National Film Corporation will be held from December 5-9 at the National Film Corporation Theatre in Colombo.

The films include Highyway Star, Christmas in August, Lifting King Kong, Momento Mori and Happy Life.


Merciless Monstrous Hunter

A collection of poetry entitled Merciless Monstrous Hunter by Dharma Kaviraj will be launched on December 6 at the Samudra Devi Balika Vidyalaya in Ambatale.

Dharma Kaviraj is a retired lecturer in English and linguist who has served at many educational institutions. He is also a lyricist.


Umatusan Varusava
 

The re-production of Umatusan Varusava which was originally staged in 1973 and was a theatrical hit will be held from December 7 and 8 at Lumbini theatre.

Jaya Sri Chandrajith, who entered the mainstream Sinhala theatre with Padmasila de Silva's Rata Barai Nubata Puthe in 1971, directs Umatusan Varusava. Somapala Gunadeera wrote the script for the play. Music for the drama is by Navaratne Gamage


Balloth Ekka Bae

Balloth Ekka Bae by Ravindra Ariyarathne will go on the boards on December 8 at 3.30 p.m. and 6.45 p.m. at the New Town Hall, Colombo 7.
