Sri Lanka’s rank in ‘Doing Business Index 2012’ improves greatly
According to the ‘Doing Business 2012’ report
published by the World Bank, Sri Lanka’s overall ranking in the
‘Doing Business Index had risen by nine places from a ranking of 98
in 2011 to a ranking of 89th in 2012 from a universe of 183
economies said Vidya Nathaniel and Janeen Fernando of Verité‚

Tourism, a boost to GDP
Tourism not only contributes a large part to the
GDP, but also generates significant indirect revenue. The direct
contribution of the hospitality and tourism industry to world GDP is
9.0 percent and the indirect contribution is 2.8 percent, Tourism

Heli Tours to add 16 helicopters to fleet
By the end of next year, 16 helicopters will be
added to the fleet of aircraft of Heli Tours (Pvt) Limited, said
Squadron Leader Rasanga de Zoysa, Officer in charge of the Charter
Flights of Heli Tours (Pvt) Ltd. These helicopters brought for
passenger transport will include fourteen MI17s with 20-seater
capacity and two Bell412 helicopters.
