Sri Lanka begin campaign with easy 3-0 win over Bhutan

Sri Lanka opened their South Asian Soccer championship campaign with
a convincing three goals to nil win over Bhutan in their opening game
played in New Delhi, last night.
Nipuna Bandara scored a goal each on either side of the half time to
become the architect of the Lankan victory. However, it was Mohammed
Zain who opened scoring for Sri Lanka in the 29th minute. Six minutes
later Bandara scored his first goal as Sri Lanka went for lemons with a
good 2-0 lead.
There was a keen tussle for supremacy in the second half though Sri
Lanka missed as many as seven scoring opportunities in the entire match.
The only scoring in the second half was made in the 65th minute by
Bandara to signal his second goal of the match to be adjudged Man of the
Match.
