LOLC ties up with SLT

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) recently signed an agreement with Lanka Orix Leasing Company (LOLC) to provide a total data communication solution.

LOLC is a leading financial service company which provides innovative value added products and services to corporate and retail customers in Sri Lanka.

Speaking on the agreement, CEO SLT Shoji Takahashi said: "We are very happy to provide LOLC with this solution with its world- class facilities, which I am confident will open new ventures to the company in terms of further diversifying their business."

SLT will provide multiple services with voice over IP, video, mission critical data services with seamless connectivity for the head office and 24 branches via Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP/VPN) solution for Broadband Internet and inter branch communication system.

The solution is capable of carrying voice and mission critical data securely and reliably supported by SLT's latest Metro Ethernet Technology.

Group Managing Director and CEO of LOLC Kapila Jayawardena said: "We selected SLT as our network partner because of the technology they are providing us, pricing and the value for money that we are receiving via this agreement. We have a long-standing relationship with SLT and with this agreement we have cemented it. They will be an integral partner in our branch expansion process as our network provider."

The solution offered by SLT helps LOLC with direct cost saving for the inter branch communication via the corporate network, makes operation smoother as the company has access to a centralised IT network at any given time, enabling communication between the head office and its branches.

It enhances the capabilities of the customer through the maintenance of online information, customer financial information, the company's investment information, remote access for corporate information, cash collection as well as sales information among others through their real time system.

Online services to customers and the enhancement of LOLC business capabilities and processors via SLT's state-of-the-art technology are also provided. It is flexible as well as scalable, suiting the company's future expansion needs.

This agreement is projected to cut down costs of inter branch data communication as well as increase productivity, resulting from cost effective real time communications as well as a high quality of service and a customised solution offered by SLT based on their requirement. Therefore through an IP VPN Network LOLC will be offered significant cost savings, instant access with mobility and most of all convenience.
