The Security Forces have signalled the first step towards the liberation of the Wanni and Mullaitivu Districts by taking control of the Madhu Church and its surrounding areas. The LTTE terrorists employed various tactics to attract the attention of the world Christian community. Having sent the famous Madhu statue of the Virgin Mary deep into an LTTE-held area, the LTTE made many unsuccessful attempts, both militarily and otherwise, to stop SLA troops advancing and tried to paint a gloomy picture. Lankan conflict - LTTE misleads South African parliamentarians

Minister Anura Yapa tells International Parliamentary Community

The LTTE has misled the South African parliamentarians along with its support groups in South Africa on the Sri Lanka crisis, said Minister of Media and Information, Anura Priyadharshana Yapa. He was addressing the 118th General Assembly of the International Parliamentary Community in Cape Town, South Africa last week.

IIGEP overstepped its limits - Minister Samarasinghe

Minister of Disaster Management and Human Rights Mahinda Samarasinghe expressing concern over the recent comments by the IIGEP said that it was pity to note that the IIGEP has rushed into conclusions on the Presidential Commission to Investigate and inquire into Alleged Serious Violations of Human Rights.
