Kandy champs again
Kandy Sports Club, the undisputed rugby champions
in the local scene, continaed with their winning spree yesterday.
Although they were made to huff and puff before overcoming CH & FC
by 16 points (1 goal, 2 penalties, 1 drop goal) to 5 (1 try) at
Maitland Crescent after being led 3-5 at half time, Kandy, retained
the Caltex League Rugby Championship Title for the seventh
consecutive year.

India clinch under 19 Triangular series
Right arm medium pacer Abu Nacheem Ahmed
produced an excellent spell of bowling to take six wickets for 19
runs to help the India Under 19 team to beat their Bangladesh
counterparts by 129 runs in the Under 19 Triangular Cricket Series
final at the Colts grounds, Havelock Park yesterday.

Jayasuriya showed he is quite capable with his bowling arm too, as
he scooped up four wickets for 31 runs in the Second One-day
International against Bangladesh to become the first player to
record 10,000 career runs and 300 wickets in limited-over
